What is online giving?

Online giving is the option to make a one-time donation or regular automatic weekly or monthly gifts on Journey’s website (http://journeychurch.online) using your debit card, credit card, or direct payments from your bank account.

Why do I have to setup a giving account?

Setting up a giving account allows you to enter a highly secured environment for your transaction.  Once your account is established, all your personal information (including credit card and bank information) is safe and secure.  A one-time use 6-digit login code is sent to your email address or mobile phone to login to your giving account.

Is it secure?

All debit card, credit card, or bank account information you enter and store for online giving is secured.  No one has access to your data unless authorized by you.

Are there any charges or fees to online giving?

Yes.  Journey church is charged a transaction fee for debit card, bank account, or credit card transactions.  Debit card or bank account transactions are $0.30 per transaction.  Credit card transactions are charged a 2-3% fee, depending on the credit card you use.  Although you will not be charged any additional costs, the fees or charges will be deducted from your donation.  However, you will be given the option to increase your donation to cover the transaction fees ($0.30 or 2-3%) banks charge Journey Church to offer this online service.

What kind of debit or credit cards do you accept?

We accept MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.

Can I use an electronic check?

Yes, select the bank account method from the payment methods and enter your bank account information.  You will need to enter your bank’s name, routing number and bank account and store for online giving.  It is secured and no one has access to your data unless authorized by you.

Can I try online giving by giving just one time?

Sure. Select “One Time” in the frequency drop-down box.

If we want to help people get out of debt, why does Journey Church accept credit cards?

Used within the appropriate parameters, debit and credit cards can be an efficient tool for payments and purchases.  Many people utilize them in place of checks and/or to earn rewards, and then pay off the balance in full each month.  We strongly discourage those who have ongoing credit card debt from using this option.  If getting out of debt is something you’d like help with, please contact the church office at (jcoffice.journeychurch@gmail.com) and we can help guide you to resources that can start that process.

How can I keep a record of the amount I have contributed?

You will receive an email notification at the time of your donation.  You can also view your online giving record at any time.  Once you have logged into your giving account, select “My Giving”.  You will see several options or menu choices (e.g., donation history, recurring donations, payment methods, statements, etc.).  Select donation history for the most recent history of your giving.  Select statements for the past statements of your giving.

Can I setup a recurring contribution schedule so donations are made automatically?

Yes.  Once you have logged into your giving account, select “My Giving”.  You will see several options or menu choices (e.g., donation history, recurring donations, payment methods, statements, etc.).  Select recurring donations, then select “add recurring donation”.  You have the option to create different schedules (weekly or monthly) and can use different payment methods (debit card, credit card, or bank account) for each of the schedules you create.

When is the recurring contribution charged to my account?

You choose when you want the contribution to be taken from the payment method you have selected and sent to Journey Church.  You can set up as many schedules as you like, so it’s possible to give a monthly gift as well as a weekly one.  You will be notified via email when the recurring donation is processing according to the schedule you selected.

What if I want to change or cancel my online giving?

Once you have logged into your giving account, select “My Giving”.  You will see several options or menu choices (e.g., donation history, recurring donations, payment methods, statements, etc.).  Select recurring donations.  You will see the different recurring donation schedules you have set up.  Click on the right arrow next to the donation schedule you wish to change or cancel.  You will have the option to update, pause, or delete this donation schedule.
