Minister Melanie Arntsen

Kids and Family Minister

Life giving part of my ministry:
I love the moments when someone tells me their child came home anxious to share the Bible truth they learned that day. I am energized too, when I see my team connecting, growing in their faith, and confident using their gifts in the roll they have chosen.

Education:
AA in General Studies with a Certificate in Early Childhood Education – Grays Harbor College – Grays Harbor, WA;
BA in Early Childhood Studies – California Baptist University – Riverside, CA;
I am currently pursuing an MA in Pastoral Counseling – Parent and Child/Adolescent Development from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

Recent God at work in you moment:
There have been many unknowns for me since I accepted the call to full-time ministry. In every situation, when I thought things might not happen like I planned, God provided but always on His schedule which has helped lessen my stress and increase my faith that He is actively working and using me to minister to kids and their families here at Journey Church.

Failure I learned from:
I was in a situation where I had been assuming too much and was not paying enough attention to my team. When it was brought to my attention, although painful to hear, it reminded me that it is easy to become complacent and forget the need to check in with every person on my team on a more regular basis to ensure they feel valued and equipped for their job.
